Airbus Beluga

Variants
A300-600ST
The Airbus Beluga, officially known as the A300-600ST (Super Transporter), is a specialized cargo aircraft designed to transport oversized cargo, particularly aircraft components. Introduced in 1995, the Beluga is based on the Airbus A300 but features a distinctive, bulbous fuselage that gives it its unique appearance. This design allows it to carry large and bulky items, such as aircraft wings, fuselage sections, and other heavy machinery, which wouldn't fit in standard cargo planes. The Beluga can carry up to 47 tons of cargo with a volume of 1,400 cubic meters. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines, it offers reliable performance over short to medium-haul routes. While initially used for transporting Airbus components between manufacturing sites, the Beluga has also been used by other companies for heavy cargo transportation. With its distinctive shape and capability, the Beluga has become an iconic symbol in the world of air cargo.
