The 777 is well known in the aviation industry as a long range aircraft, capable of flying distances other airliners cannot go. Created in 1993, the 777 was made to replace older aircraft such as DC10s and L1011s which were getting very old. The 777 introduced a number of new and advanced technologies, such as digital fly-by-wire controls and software avionics. This was very important as at the time, as these were very rare. Many people love this plane, including myself. The 777 is still in operation today and a new variant, the 777X, will have wingtips unlike the older 777s. It is still in production today, and many airlines continue to use them as they are effective at long haul flights and better than some other options.
